Many of our plans have been put on hold lately, but now is the time to start planning that next family vacation! Don’t worry, you don’t need to narrow down the dates, but you can plan the other details.

Pick the Location

First, you will want to decide where you want to go! Decide if you want to stay in the United States or maybe you are interested in venturing to another country.

Hold a family meeting and decide which destination is the best for your family. Maybe you want to go to New York City where the family can stroll through Central Park and then catch a Broadway show. You can even find a New York City pass to make sure you don’t miss anything! Or maybe Paris is more of your place, where you can work on your French and visit the Eiffel Tower.

This will also help give you an idea of how much you should start saving for your trip! Either way, make sure you are prepared with the correct travel documents such as travel insurance, a valid identification card, and a passport.

Find Things to Do

Once you decide on the destination, plan to top attractions you want to visit when on vacation.  You can always go with the flow, but having an agenda will ensure that you will not miss out on some of those top spots you want to see.

San Francisco is a great place to visit on the West Coast. It has something for everyone, just make sure to take the time to drive across the famous Golden Gate Bridge.

If you are looking to go international, Australia is a popular destination, especially Sydney. It is a beautiful city that is home to the arched Harbour Bridge, the Sydney Opera House and the Skywalk.

Do Your Research

To be fully prepared for your trip, make sure to do your research. You will not be able to pick the dates you want to go just yet, but you can still look to see what time of the year is best to visit your preferred destination.

Also, take note of locals hotels and restaurants that you are interested in. Since you can’t book anything yet, once the time is right, you will be ready to do so!
